This new RING ROAD metro line is the longest in Delhi , and a savior for all!!!

It was a long general day in Mr. Polkadot’s life today, but with a quirk. Why so??? Because today he went on for a short drive on the newest addition to the DMRC (Delhi Metro Rail Corporation) family. Yes, the newly opened PINK LINE got live yesterday, and Mr Polkadot went on for its first ride.

This metro is currently operating from Majlis Park to Shiv Vihar, both in North Delhi. It consist of 38 stations in total. The Pink Line is also called the “Ring Road Line” as the whole line passes alongside the busy ring road in Delhi. It is also in almost a “U” shape pattern. To ab kam traffic!! #fingercrossed.

The metro has started from Majlis Park to Durgabai Deshmukh South Campus. The end-to-end travel time on the Majlis Park-Durgabai Deshmukh South Campus route is 34 minutes and will cost Rs 40. The 21.56 km-long stretch will have 12 stations, including Majlis Park, Azadpur, Shalimar Bagh, Netaji Subhash Place, Shakurpur, Punjabi Bagh West, ESI Hospital, Rajouri Garden, Mayapuri, Naraina Vihar, Delhi Cantt and Durgabai Deshmukh South Campus. This section has as many as three interchange stations including Azadpur (Yellow Line), Netaji Subhash Place (with Red Line) and Rajouri Garden (Blue Line). Its going to be really beneficial for the students to get connected from north campus to south campus very easily.

But… But… But… Every thing has something fishy, I dont know why but the metro was running pretty slow with some technical error, as the announcements were being made (jaisa announcement wali aunty aur uncle bata rahe the). And each station took almost 3-4 min delay to close the gates. But may be its just the second day, so they might be taking it slow #SlowandSteadyWinsTheRace. But one thing which struck my eyes was, how come PUNJABI BAGH WEST turned to PANJABI BAGH WEST??? Why why why…… “Punjab” not “Panjab”. But i am sure they might have a reason for that, and if not then…… Shandaar Jordaar Jabardast #sarcasm (tch tch).

So, we welcome this new line with our #dilliwala style. And as soon as the fully route is functional, we would surely go for the LONGEST RIDE OF DELHI METRO with the length of 58.59 Km. So, do share your first journey in this pink line.
